The checkbox is unchecked by default and is a separate checkbox — it is not bundled with your general agreement to our Terms of Service — so opting in to text messages is always an affirmative, standalone choice.

Jumpstart Funding offers an SMS messaging program (Jumpstart Funding SMS) exclusively to business owners who have explicitly opted in by submitting our online application form and checking the SMS consent checkbox. All messages sent under this program are identified as being from Jumpstart Funding.
Jumpstart Funding sends SMS messages related to your loan inquiry and application, including follow-up on submitted financing inquiries, application status updates, document/signing reminders, scheduling, direct one-to-one conversations with the team handling your file, and marketing and promotional messages about available business financing.
Message frequency varies based on the stage of your application.
Msg & data rates may apply. SMS messages sent by Jumpstart Funding are free; carrier message and data rates set by your mobile provider may apply.
Reply STOP to any message to opt out at any time. You will receive one confirmation message and no further messages from that program will be sent.

Consent of record. The application form itself contains the consent checkbox so that consent travels with each submission for audit. For every opt-in, we capture and store the phone number, the opt-in timestamp, the exact consent language shown, and (where available) the IP address and user-agent, as our messaging audit trail. This matches the audit-trail record described in the “Text Messages, Phone Calls & Consent” section of our Privacy Policy.
